NABT Intro Bio Task Force

The NABT Introductory Biology Task Force was formed to support instructors teaching college-level introductory biology courses by providing a professional learning community around the introductory biology course.

Recognizing that undergraduate introductory biology is not exclusively taught in 2-year and 4-year colleges by an instructor or professor with a terminal degree in their field; the IBTF learning community includes those instructors working outside of institutions of higher education who teach dual enrollment or Advanced Placement (AP) courses who are typically high school teachers with specialized training in curriculum and instruction.

Science Practices Continuum: The IBTF evaluated Vision and Change,  the AP© Biology Curriculum, and the Next Generation Science Standards to produce a list of key outcomes relevant to science process skills from each report. The synthesized table is a result of the group's findings.
