2024 First Time Support

Thanks to the generous support of a member donor, NABT is offering two opportunities to support teachers attending the NABT Conference for the first time. 

First-Timer Fellows

Open to K-12 teachers who would like to attend the NABT Conference in Anaheim, the fellowship includes registration and a one-year membership to NABT. Five First-Timer Fellowships are available and will be awarded on a first-come basis. 

Teachers within driving distance of Anaheim are encouraged to apply.

Required application materials include:

• Professional profile or current CV.
• Short essay (< 500 words) describing the importance of professional development and how the opportunity to attend the NABT Conference will impact your practice as an educator. 
• Letter of support on school letterhead and signed by an administrator/supervisor indicating support to attend the conference from November 14 - 16, 2024. Sample language is below:
  • I support the participation of [NAME OF TEACHER] at the NABT Professional Development Conference being held November 10 - 13 in Anheim, California.  

NABT Mini-Grant 

The mini-grant will cover conference registration and up to $500 reimbursement support to attend the NABT Conference for the first time. One (1) mini-grant is currently available to educators at all levels (K-16) and can be used to cover subs/TAs, childcare, travel costs, or other related expenses.

Required application materials include:

• Professional profile or current CV.
• Short essay (< 500 words) describing how attending the NABT Conference will support your professional goals. 
• Brief description (< 500) about how meeting your specific need is necessary for you to participate in the conference.

Applications for the mini-grant are due on August 1st.
